Darkness into Light – Saturday 9th May 2026

Darkness Into Light 2026, proudly supported by Electric Ireland, is Pieta’s (The charity for suicide and self-harm prevention) biggest fundraiser, the 5km walk will take place at 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, 9th of May, 2026. The funds raised through Darkness Into Light supports Pieta’s lifesaving free services to people in your community that have been affected by suicide or self-harm. This inspiring event also symbolises hope, as communities come together to support mental health, suicide and self-harm prevention.

The Glasshouse Hotel is proud to be a supporter of Darkness into Light.
Sligo Town Darkness into Light walk starts from The Knocknarea Arena at ATU Sligo, up through The Mall, over the bridge at The Riverside Hotel, across John F Kennedy Parade, up O’Connell Street, past The Glasshouse Hotel & over Hyde Bridge, past Thomas Connolly’s, out to the N4 and back to ATU Sligo. There will be tea and light refreshments in The Knocknarea Arena for all involved afterwards.
