Caves of Keash
The Caves of Keash are a series of 16 limestone caves on Keshcorran Hill, rich in archaeology, mythology and scenic views. The caves are located a 25-30 minute drive from The Glasshouse Hotel. The caves perched high on the hillside, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and Lough Feenagh.
Enniscrone Beach
Enniscrone is a lively seaside town on the shores of Killala Bay in County Sligo. It is almost 5km of fine sand, backed by sand dunes with exquisite views. A section of the beach is lifeguarded during the Summer so perfect a dip in the sea to cool down.
Knocknashee Walk
Knocknashee is one of Ireland's largest Bronze Age hillforts. It is not as well known as Benbulben but nonetheless a beautiful table top mountain overlooking the drumlins and plains of South Sligo.
Sligo Folk Park
Experience rural life and Irish heritage at the turn of the 19th century in Riverstown. Visit the musuem, exhibition hall, gardens, and enjoy events and audio guide at this community-run attraction.
Slish Wood
Slish wood is located on the southern shore of Lough Gill in a stunning location between the lake and the Ox Mountains. This walk nestles in the centre of the woods and is part of a much longer trail that is part of the Sligo Way.
Union Wood
Union wood is a large area of mixed forestry located between Coolooney, Ballygawley and Ballisodare and provides a wonderful amenity for Sligo. The wood provides a range of walking opportunities through diverse woodland as well as access to Union Rock and its wonderful panorama of the North West of Ireland.
Sligo is a beautiful county and walking, particularly in the hills and mountains is a lovely way to see it in detail.
